Match the task to the institution
| Question | Official starting point | What to verify next |
|---|---|---|
| Which executive agency owns a service? | PR.gov agency directory. [1] | The agency's own service page, required transaction, current form, office, and receipt method |
| Where can I locate laws or regulations? | Department of State juridical library. [2] | Document number, language, enactment or filing status, effective date, amendments, and official publication |
| What is happening to a legislative measure? | Office of Legislative Services and SUTRA. [3] [4] | Measure number, term, latest action, enrolled text, executive action, and whether it became law |
| Where are court services or decisions? | Judicial Branch portal. [5] | Court or region, case or decision, filing channel, current form, deadline, and official docket or notice |
Preserve the institutional source path
- Start with the owner. Record the institution and the office, bureau, court, or municipality responsible for the task.
- Open the operative item. Save the form, order, regulation, law, docket entry, decision, service page, or notice that actually answers the question.
- Confirm status and date. A proposed measure, archived page, draft form, translation, and enacted current source have different authority.
- Keep transaction evidence. Preserve the submitted record, confirmation, payment, appointment, correspondence, and source version used.
