Run the day-of-travel check

  • Reopen the live route. Confirm that the service, stop or terminal, direction, and travel date match the itinerary.
  • Read the service alert. A blank or old alert page is not proof of normal operations; check the schedule, app or official channel identified by the operator.
  • Confirm boarding and payment. Verify ticket inventory, accepted payment, activation, arrival cutoff, identification, baggage, vehicle, and resident rules that apply.
  • Confirm accessibility directly. Ask the operator about the exact vehicle, station, terminal, assistance, paratransit eligibility, and accommodation needed.
  • Keep a backup. Weather, traffic, mechanical issues, capacity, and missed connections can change the trip. Preserve enough time and another route where practical.
